TAG Information
What is TAG? TAG is a LOW key gymnastics league designed for area gymnasts.
TAG (Talented Area Gymnasts) is an alternative to USAG (USA Gymnastics). We use the same routines with a little different scoring.
TAG has guidelines that we ask all gyms to follow, but there aren’t TAG police to enforce the guidelines.
TAG Guidelines
TAG is a fun league for:
1. Novice gymnasts
2. Or gymnasts that only want to practice 2-3 times a week
Guidelines:
1. Practice 3-7 hours a week
2. Less expensive uniforms (ex. They use a tank leo, NO warm-up, or large bags to purchase.
Guidelines for a meet:
1. Every gym will charge a LOW admission for parents
2. Entry fees are $25-$30 per gymnast
3. Level 1-2-3 don’t receive a score~ only a flag
Blue flag: very good and no errors
Red flag: pretty good but has a few errors
White flag: needs A LOT of work (ex: had spot)
4. Level 4 & up receive a score
5. One judge per event
6. ALL gymnasts receive an AA (all-around) & event award
7. Level 4 & up may be placed in AA, but individual event placement is discouraged.
8. Remember this is a recreational league
Trying Out For Tag
ConocoPhillips Gymnastics try-outs are open for all girls ages 5 years old and up.
The girls will be tested on strength and flexibility, not on skill level.
Being a part of the ConocoPhillips gymnastics team will include working out 3 hours per week and will have approximately 5 to 6 competitions during the gymnastics season including exhibitions for OK Mozart and Sunfest. You do NOT have to presently be a member of the Gymnastics Club to try out. Tell all your family and friends so they can try out too!
